Item Description

A rare and striking fluorite varietal from the famous Erongo Mountains. Spinel-twinned fluorites are rare from the Erongos and this small find caused a major stir at the Tuscon Show a number of years ago. This is an impressive columnar cluster of of lustrous, transparent to translucent, elongated, bicolored, rich purple to colorless spinel-twins. The crystals reach 5.3 cm and have much better transparency, than most that were available. A 1.6 cm schorl is a nice accent. Three of the four major faces are pristine, with the contacted fourth face being out-of-sight. A fine, above average, large example from this exciting find.
