Item Description
Here we have a showy and fine quality example of the now well-known Spinel specimens from Vietnam. This specimen came out of the ground about around 2007, and is one of the better miniature sized specimens I have offered from this locality in the auctions. A predominant, 1.9 cm, sharp, lustrous, well-formed octahedral twinned crystal (a genuine Spinel-law twin) of beautiful purple Spinel is perched atop bladed crystals of what appears to be Feldspar(?). A small amount of burnt-orange colored Chondrodite can be seen here and there as well. Sharp twinned crystals of Spinel of this size on matrix are not common in the minerals world.
