Spinel (twinned crystal)

Every once in a while I like to throw a CRYSTAL into the gemstone auctions. A piece like this would make a great match for a rough and cut Spinel set. This piece is not a faceted stone, but rather a "Spinel-Law" twinned Ruby Spinel crystal that would easily be wirewrapped into a great piece of jewelry, or used as a reference piece to match a gemstone that you might have from this well known gem district. The crystal has a very attractive pinkish-red color and is sharp, and not at all rounded, like many of the crystals that are found in the various streams in Burma where this material originates.
