Item Description
A spectacular, large and colorful crystallized copper specimen from Onganja and the Rob Smith Collection. Malachite coats the large spinel-twinned crystals on this dramatic and scuptural floater specimen of solid copper. The nubby side is composed of all of the many terminations of the spinel-twinned crystals. The other side highlights the classic arborescent branching form, typical of many spinel-twinned copper specimens. The striking, echelon twins on one side look like thick large animal ribs attached to a massive backbone! This is the finest really large Onganja copper we have seen. Value??? Surely over $2000. Hefty at 7.3 pounds or 3.3 kilos.
