Item Description

Fascinating arborescent and highly unusual two-sided floater crystallized copper from the famous Ray Mine. The striking dendritic piece is composed of a myriad of stacked spinel-twinned crystals and associated euhedral to subhedral tetrahexahedral copper crystals with typical copper patina. Many of the crystals have an amazing sparkle to them. Examination of the crystals under a microscope using 35X power reveals fabulous bright, preferential, iridescent secondary copper overgrowths. Ex David Lare and Jeff Skelpsa collections. A remarkable, very uncommon and very showy crystallized copper from the noted locale.
