Spinel-twinned Copper (Rob Smith Coll.)

Item Description

A sculptural, very sharp, branching, highly aesthetic group of well-formed, spinel-twinned copper crystals. Two of the twins are very wide and flattened, compared to the rest. Some of the branches have a nubby overgrowth, that includes malachite, while parts of the piece have a beautiful, bright coppery patina. This very artistic piece looks like a Star Wars Empire X-fighter. Outstanding copper from the famous Emke Mine and the Rob Smith Collection.
