Item Description
Exceptional variable crystallization on this outstanding sculptural floater small cabinet copper from a NEW FIND at this active open pit copper mine. All four sides of the artistic 360-degree flattened piece have striking partial backbone of spinel-twins. The upper half resembles a leaf and has striking skeletal and hoppered features, side to side. The bottom half is amazing. One side has stunning rounded tetrahexahedral crystals attached to ribs, with the other side having spinel-twins flanked with the skeletal or hoppered copper. Even the side views are dramatically sculptural! This incredible cutie resembles classic crystallized coppers from Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, Arizona or Kazakhstan! Most specimens from the 2017 find had an arborescent shape, so these new pieces are dramatically different and exciting.
