Item Description
Dramatically sculptural spinel-twinned copper crystals with a bright patina from this famous Copper Country mine. The piece hosts both a striking projecting spinel-twinned form composed of sharp tetrahexahedral crystals and fantastic curved elongated, single spinel-twins, that look like feathers. The copper was dissolved out of the basalt matrix to bring out the rich copper luster. The Central Mine closed in 1898, but the dumps still produce fine specimens periodically. Exceptional and classic Central Mine copper in this size and form with 360-degree pizzazz.
