Item Description

Striking, man-made, very well-defined, stepped-growth spinel octahedrons from a factory in Niagara Falls make for an impressive and unusual synthetic specimen. This piece has glass-like, sharp edges. The highly lustrous, deep blue crystals rest on a matrix of massive spinel. Very uncommon to see, old material. Ex. Bill and Anne Cook, Jingnan (Tom) Zhang Collection (obtained as a summer intern for Arkenstone during Covid years when he helped unpack the collection, and now sold to finance going to college).
