Spinel (''Ruby Spinel'') (GEM crystal)

Item Description

A fantastic wonderful textbook octahedral crystal of GEM Spinel from Mogok with smooth, sharp, well-formed faces. The piece is a complete "floater", no damage and has superb optical clarity inside, with a glowing reddish-pink hue. This is a great opportunity to pick up a fine "Ruby Spinel" crystal from this historic mining area. Specimen weight is 0.41 grams. It is virtually impossible to obtain fine quality Spinel specimens from Mogok these days due to political upheaval in Myanmar. No mining is taking place, the mineral market is completely closed down, and what little makes it way out of the country is incredibly expensive based upon reports we're getting.
PLEASE NOTE: The color in the video for this specimen is more of a red color than the crystal appears in person. It's more on the pinkish side of red, and it's not as cherry red as it appears in the video.
