Spinel on marble (ex John Arnaud Collection)

Item Description

A good example of the now well known Spinel specimens from Vietnam. This specimen came out of the ground about 6 years ago (2007), and is one of the better small cabinet matrix specimens I have offered from this locality in the auctions. The crystal group, which has a pleasing pinkish-red color, and measures 2.0 cm and has good luster sitting atop a matrix of contrasting white marble. Crystallized Spinel with this color is not common in the world. Please note that the marble matrix has been carved, which is very common for these specimens, as the locals love to carve specimens out of the rock. From the collection of John Arnaud.
