Spinel on Calcite

Item Description

A lovely thumbnail from a somewhat unspecific locality in Quebec. The piece comes with a label from Frank and Wendy Melanson, which states it's simply from the Lievre River, but I have no additional information as to specifically where it was found. Sharp, well-formed, rich blue color octhahedra of Spinel measuring up to 6 mm sit aesthetically on white Calcite matrix. A nice additional to your Spinel suite, as I'm sure this material was not common on the market, and probably came from an isolated discovery.
