Item Description
This well-known extinct small Quebec mica mine is famous for excellent spinel and olivine crystals. A classic, sharp, lustrous, jet-black octahedron is nicely accented with a bit of matrix. The modified edges add pizzazz to this excellent thumbnail. The buised corner has minimal impact to the overall excellent quality of this 360-degree octo. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10281 and acquired in the 1980s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A fine thumbnail crystal from this locale.
