Item Description

Rich cherry-red color on this sculptural intergrown cluster of sharp Spinel octahedrons from a NEW FIND at this less well-known large marble massif in Tanzania. The octos are very glassy, lustrous and translucent. The impressive large octo is 2.8 x. 2.7 x 2.5 cm and the sharp secondary protruding octo is 2.1 cm tall. Complete all-around and in good shape, with only a bit of periphery wear. The locality is known for excellent spinel crystals, but they are seldom on the market. Cherry-red fluorescence. The piece has several fine display views.
