This impressive robust display specimen comes to us from a new discovery in 2023. This piece is an attractive and good quality purple Spinel crystal on matrix, said to be from the Laghman Province in Afghanistan, not the typical Badakhshan Province, where the marble localities lie. This piece host a very good sized, sharp, lustrous, well-formed, octahedron, but it's not 100% complete, as there are some areas of interrupted growth. Keep in mind that it's rare to find Spinel crystals of this size with defined lustrous faces and a brighter color, especially UN-repaired pieces on MATRIX like this. Most bigger Spinel crystals are very dark and often fairly crude. An interesting and exciting piece that might be the start of things to come, or it might be a very limited discovery. Valued $2,400.
