Item Description
This is a twinned crystal of glassy and gemmy, fiery, cherry-red spinel from the classic mines in Mogok. The twinning plane is clearly evident and the larger member of the twin measures 2.5 cm in length - a good size! Only very minor edge wear is present but that is not unusual, given the mostly alluvial nature of Mogok deposits. The piece is otherwise complete all around. It has beautiful, rare, side bevel faces to the twin which you do not often see. Valued at over $1000 and formerly in our high-$ cull auctions. ex Graw collection
