Spinel (good sized crystal)

Item Description

An attractive small cabinet sized specimen of the classic Spinel crystals from Luc Yen, Vietnam. This piece features a good sized, very sharp, highly lustrous, wonderful rose colored Spinel crystal with excellent octahedral form, sitting on marble/schist matrix. The crystal is largely undamaged, but there are areas of either interrupted / incomplete growth, or small contacts. When backlit, the corners show a bit of translucency, which is rare for a crystal of this size/thickness. As mentioned, this crystal is larger than the majority of Spinel I've had to offer from this area, and would make a great addition to any collection of worldwide Spinels or gem crystal specimens.
