Spinel (excellent twinned crystal) (ex Doxsee Collection)

Item Description

A wonderful toenail sized specimen of the classic twinned Spinel crystals from the Minh Tien Mine, in Luc Yen, Vietnam. This piece is nearly a complete "floater", as it's is almost crystallized all the way around, but there is a small point of attachment on one corner. The color ranges from a soft "powdery" pink hue to a rich purplish-pink closer to the center. The faces are sharp and well-formed with good luster all over. The piece shows very slight gemminess in areas with strong backlighting. This crystal is larger than the majority of Spinel twins I've had to offer from this particular mine, and would make a great addition to any collection of worldwide Spinels, twinned crystals or gem crystal specimens.
