Item Description

Spinel is a gem that is found in a great range of colors. I think a lot of people will think of the famous red Ruby Spinels when the gem is mentioned, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This stone has a purplish-blue color indoors and actually does a slight color shift to more of a purple hue in sunlight. I feel that this blue color is rarer in Spinel than most other shades, as there are a lot more red, pink and purple Spinels on the market. The gem has nearly eye clean clarity and an "Oval Brilliant" cut. The stone needs a decent amount of light for the blue color to shine through, but it's there. The high retail price on this gem is $360.00.
