Spinel is another gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful Spinel stone. It is an attractive gem with a vivid color which is certainly less common in Spinel than most other shades. The blue color is best seen in sunlight and I think looks most like indigo than any other shade. Under halogen lighting, the color is a distinct purple hue. The gem is VVS in clarity, and has a "Round Brilliant" cut. This is a good quality Spinel with strong color. The high retail price on this gem is $860.00.
