Spinel & Chondrodite ex Obodda

Spinel crystals are rare from the Koksha Valley. Chondrodite is a member of the Humite Group of silicates. A combination specimen of this size with sharp crystals and crystal richness of both species is rare. Sharp, lustrous, black spinel octahedrons, to 2.5 cm, are richly and attractively set on the starkly contrasting feldspar matrix with several sharp, orange-brown, chondrodite crystals. The couple of bruised spinels and broken chondrodites are a modest detraction to this very fine and showy example of the rare species in combination. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
