Item Description
Spinel crystals are rare from the Koksha Valley. Chondrodite is a member of the Humite Group of silicates. A combination specimen of this size with sharp crystals and crystal richness of both species is rare. Sharp, lustrous, black spinel octahedrons, to 2.9 cm, are richly and attractively set on the blocky feldspar matrix with numerous sharp, orange-brown, chondrodite crystals. The back has been sawed to enhance the display view. This is a very fine and showy example of the rare species in combination. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this at $600, more than five years ago. It is certainly worth more today, with the ongoing conflict.
