Spinel

Spinel is gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This stone is an attractive, decent sized, VVS beautiful blue Spinel gem (the color looks best in sunlight) with an "oval brilliant" cut. This gem has a very attractive hue, but one of my favorite aspects of Spinel is the fact that they have a unique almsot "metallic" quality to them. Also, blue is not a terribly common color for Spinel.
