Spinel

Spinel is another gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. It is an attractive, very slightly included, light smoky purple pink color, "Step Oval" cut gemstone. The stone almost resembles what some dealers call "Titanium Spinel" due to its somewhat silvery overtone. Due to the political upheaval in southeast, it appears that these stones will soon be very very hard to come across and the days of the good Spinels may be dwindling.
