Item Description
Spinels to an extent are just a step below the "Precious Gem" category, and find gem quality Spinels in my opinion don't get enough acknowledgment for what they are. The material itself is incredibly durable/hard with not cleavage, so it's great for gem cutters to work and setting into jewelry, and to top it off, the stones are found in wide range of colors. They are quite similar to Ruby/Sapphire in their chemistry. Most Spinels around the world are dark and opaque, and transparent colorful material is certainly interesting and beautiful. This is a beautiful saturated orange-pink Spinel from Sri Lanka. It's an attractive gem with a very pleasing hue along with that slight metallic appearance that is often seen in Spinels. The gem is nearly eye-clean and has a traditional "Oval" cut. This is certainly a good quality Spinel with a wonderful color, and they seem to be less available on the market than they were 10 years ago.
