While many people are familiar with Spinel, a lot of them are not aware that the gem comes in a great range of colors. I think a lot of people have heard of Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful Spinel is from Mogok, Myanmar, and has a soft silvery hue and a slightly metallic quality, that is often seen in Spinels. The gem is virtually eye clean and has a traditional "Oval Step" cut. This is a good quality Spinel with very interesting color. Most of the Spinels we've had from Mogok are some shade of pink or red, so a stones like this is certainly not common in our experience.
