Item Description

Spinels are some of the most colorful, durable and desirable gems out there. They are found in a wide range of colors. This particular gem is from Tanzania, and has a distinct blue color, which isn't terribly common to find from Tanzania. This stone has a "Round Brilliant" cut with nearly eye-clean clarity and it actually shows a slight color change from an almost "steel blue" color in sunlight, and more of a purplish shade under halogen lighting.
