Some of the finest gem grade green Sphalerites come from the Madan region in Bulgaria. I have seen cut stones of this material that are so intense in color, they actually show a blue shade! This piece features several sharp, lustrous, translucent, black to green color modified and "Spinel-Law" twinned crystals of Sphalerite measuring up to 1.8 cm across which are associated with a beautiful gem quality Quartz crystal flaring out of the center of the piece. Some minor golden Chalocpyrite makes for a great final touch. The piece displays beautifully, and is in incredible shape overall compared to most from this area.
