Sphalerite with colorless Fluorite

What a showy, three-dimensional and fine quality cabinet display piece of this classic material from Dalnegorsk. A predominant sharp, well-formed, lustrous, group of essentially black/opaque Sphalerite crystals measuring 4.3 cm, are aesthetically perched atop a matrix covered with dozens of sharp, gemmy, unusually COLORLESS Fluorite crystals, along with thin prisms of Quartz to create a very eye-catching overall specimen. The piece has minimal roughness on the display side, and it displays wonderfully as you can see. Very good quality and despite the fact that there were a good number of these years ago, very few featured gorgeous big isolated Sphalerites on colorless Fluorite like this. They are quickly disappearing from the market, now so don't miss out. I value this one highly for its size, aesthetics and beautiful arrangement, and I would have it priced on the shelf at a show in the range of about $3,500 retail. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#541 Ru), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
