Item Description

A seldom seen Neudorf Sphalerite specimen features sharp, well-formed, jet-black colored crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm associated with golden crystals of Chalcopyrite for a nice touch. The central crystals are all in fine shape, but the piece is obviously contacted around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. If you collect worldwide Sphalerites or German classics, don't miss out on this eye-catching sulfide association piece from this historic locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2403). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
