Item Description

Sphalerite specimens are RARE from this well-known mine, noted for outstanding cassiterite specimens. The mounded matrix of splendent, jet-black sphalerite crystals is dramatically accented with sprays of water-clear quartz points and scattered brassy pyritohedrons. The impressive doubly terminated quartz crystal is 3.9 cm. The few noted broken quartz points have negligible impact to the aesthetic and rare combination quality of this very fine two-sided piece from the Viloco Mine and the Art Soregaroli Collection.
