Sphalerite w/ Calcite (rare old classic)

Item Description

Glassy, doubly terminated calcite crystals, to 1.9 cm, with frosted faces are dramatically clustered along the crest of both sides and along one edge of the wedge of splendent jet-black sphalerite crystals. This is an aesthetic, classic and very fine two-sided combination from this ancient Pb-Zn mining district worked until 1954. The Eckert label dates from the late 1940s to early 1960s. From an East Coast collection.
