Item Description
Cleiophane sphalerite is a light-colored (usually yellowish or greenish) up to colorless sphalerite with low contents of iron and manganese. Glassy, translucent and lustrous, sharp, olive-green crystals to 1.3 cm are scattered amongst quartz and galena crystals. The large sphalerite is very well placed. This classic, old-time and rare combination specimen is from the much less well-known Syndicate Pit at Butte. Ex Richard Haas and Robert Whitmore Collections.
