Item Description

A classic association and display specimen from the famous Naica Mine in northern Mexico. A few sharp, lustrous, intergrown, black colored "Spinel-Law" twinned groups of Sphalerite are associated with gemmy, scalenohedra of Calcite. This piece is not from a recent find at the mine, but actually about 30 years ago (late 1970s). For the quality, associations, and overall aesthetics, it is a nice small cabinet from this incredible mine. In good shape on the display side, but the Sphalerite is cleaved on the back.
