Item Description

An impressive, large, 5.3 x 4.8 x 4.3 cm, twinned sphalerite is juantily perched atop the well-prepared mounded matrix covered with very nifty sprays of quartz points. The lustrous, jet-black crystal has dramatic stepped-growth faces with fantastic variable iridescence. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only trivial scattered brusing, which certainly has only negligible impact to the overall very high quality of this combination. Dal'negorsk is famed for world-class sulfide specimens and this is an outstanding combination example from the Nikolaevskiy Mine from the Art Soregaroli Collection. Collected in 2006, according to a former dealer label. Valued at $1250-1500 for very high quality.
