Sphalerite on Quartz (near "floater")

Elmwood is only known for producing a handful of species, but the best pieces are among the finest in the world for what they are. Here we have a wonderful near "floater" large cabinet display specimen featuring several, multiply-terminated, lustrous compound crystals of deep reddish-brown Sphalerites on a grey matrix covered by sugary Quartz. The piece has one small point of contact on the back, but is otherwise in great shape and crystallized all the way around. The largest crystal group measures 3.6 cm across! It is a great representative Sphalerite specimen from this world famous locality.
