Item Description
While the Elmwood Mine is world famous for its superb Fluorites and Calcites, there are two well-known sulfides found there which most people are quite familiar with. This toenail sized specimen features a coverage of rich "ruby jack" reddish-brown Sphalerite crystals which are coating several sides of a highly lustrous, splendent, silvery, metallic group of cubic Galena crystals. The piece is in excellent condition all around with a separation mark on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. The Sphalerites glisten in the light, and show beautiful deep flashes of color when backlit. A beautiful association specimen and a showy overall piece from this well-known mine. The pieces comes to us from the Mark Kielbaso collection, and there was a note with the specimen that states it was found in 1989 at the OG #J portion of the mine.
