Item Description
Intergrown, classic, sharp, triangular, lustrous, jet-black sphalerite crystals with a hint of brown form a showy and excellent mounded specimen from the famous Picher Field of the Tri-State District. The compound crystals reach 2.5 cm and have nifty stepped-growth faces. A bit of embedded calcite adds character. Complete all-around and pristine. Old-time material from Oklahoma and the Robert Whitmore Collection #508, with a 1972 date. Highly representative material for the species and locality.
