Sphalerite (old classic)

Item Description

A beautiful and showy display specimen of the classic Sphalerites from Nenthead in Cumbria, England. This piece has such great balance and overall aesthetics featuring fine quality, sharp, lustrous, deep reddish-black colored complex crystals of Sphalerite measuring up to 3.2 cm across with minor Dolomite on a thin bit of matrix. My favorite aspect of the piece is the fact that it stands up on its own without the aid of a base of clay. The piece has such great form with wonderful displayability. These specimens are not seen on the market very often, and certainly are worth picking up for Sphalerite collectors and collectors of European minerals.
