Item Description
The famous Elmwood Mine has produced some of the most iconic Calcite crystals from any world locality. Additionally this famous locality has produced some beautiful Sphalerite specimens, often referred to as "Ruby Jack" for their dark reddish-brown color. This piece is not your typical Elmwood Sphalerite as it features an oddly compressed group of sharp, lustrous crystals on a thin slice of matrix. The Sphalerite group is crystallized on all sides, with no major damage that I can find, but there are a few small points of contact along one edge. It's certainly a different kind of Sphalerite for the locale, and would make a great addition to a collection of worldwide Sphalerites or minerals from the Elmwood Mine.
