Item Description

This piece is a good-sized, showy and very rarely seen loclaity specimen from the Dongxiang Cu-polymetallic Deposit in China featuring fine, sharp, well-formed, deep honey colored twinned crystals of Sphalerite measuring up to 1.8 cm across, associated with dark grey-black crystals groups of Bornite, sitting a layer of little Quartz crystals on matrix. There are scattered micro iridescent brass colored crystals of Chalcopyrite on the piece which are best seen under magnification. No major damage, and the Sphalerites have great internal gemminess when backlit. Valued $1,500 for size, quality and the rare locality.
