Item Description

This is the first specimen of Sphalerite that we've had to offer from the Bota-Burum U deposit in Kazakhstan, and is distinctly different from almost any other Sphalerite we've seen from anywhere else in the world. The piece features an attractive, sharp, lustrous, compressed crystal measuring 1.3 cm on matrix, which shows a wonderful bi-colored appearance, as the center has a fiery red hue, with a golden-yellow color on exterior edges. The colors are essentially a "phantom" style, similar to what's seen in Fluorite crystals. If you're a fan of worldwide Sphalerites or minerals from obscure localities, do NOT miss out on this beautiful and fine quality example. Priced at $750. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
