Some of the finest gem grade green Sphalerites come from the Madan region in Bulgaria. I have seen cut stones of this material that are so intense in color, they actually show a blue shade! This piece features several sharp, lustrous, GEM/gemmy, pleasing green color modified crystals of Sphalerite measuring up to 6 mm which are sitting on and in sugary Quartz crystal matrix. The quality is excellent for the material, especially since the crystals are both lustrous AND gemmy! An attractive specimen from this well-known Sphalerite producing locality. A great full sized miniature specimen of a transparent sulfide species!! Valued at $600.
