Item Description

Sphalerite and galena specimens from the famous Commodore Mine of the Creede District are a Colorado classic. Gemmy orange-brown sphalerite crystals with resinous luster are dramatically clustered atop the 3-dimensional matrix of bright metallic-gray galena crystals. The striking prominent gemmy pyramidal sphalerite at the top is 2.0 cm. This showy and excellent combination is either from the old 1960s hoard released in 2002 or from the newer find in 2004. Some of the sphalerites glow, when backlit.
