Item Description

An old-time, showy, rich combination ore specimen from the famous mines at Alston Moor. Scintillating, jet-black, sphalerite crystals with rubyjack highlights richly cover both sides of the crystallized fluorite CABINET matrix. Stepped-growth face galena crystals to 4.2 cm round out this sculptural and showy ore specimen from this historic locale. Excellent combination material. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
