Item Description

Ross Lillie's handwritten note on his label states: "Excellent combination piece." The sculptural upright wedge of St. Genevieve Limestone hosts dramatically set gemmy rubyjack sphalerite crystals and two nifty color-zoned rich purple fluorite cubes, to 1.8 cm. The striking compound sphalerite at the crest is 2.0 cm and the large sphalerites have rich dustings of golden chalcopyrite crystals. Scattered sprays of tiny golden barite blades are a fine accent. The two small edge bruises noted on the lower fluorite are certainly only a modest detraction to this fine and showy combination mined in December, 1984. Classic combination material.
