Item Description
This specimen is a fantastic example of the classic red "Ruby Jack" Sphalerite from the famous area around the Picher Field in Oklahoma. Many very sharp, lustrous, well-formed, reddish-brown, modified tetrahedral crystals of Sphalerite measuring up to 3.2 mm across are sitting atop a layer of tiny sparkling Quartz on host rock matrix. Good quality and beautiful from the crystallographic standpoint. Some of the crystals show beautiful internal fiery reddish color when backlit. I love how the piece sits on its own without the aid of a base or clay. Great old classic material from the tri-state region. Priced at $950 in the inventory.
