Sphalerite (fine quality twins) (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

An outstanding specimen of Sphalerite from the Idarado mine. The crystals show very sharp, smooth, "Spinel-law" twins with a HIGHLY lustrous jet black appearance. Minor Calcite, Chalcopyrite and micro Epidote can be seen on the piece as well. The specimen was collected by John Trujillo around 40-45 years ago, and comes from the Colorado mineral collection of Brian Kosnar by way of his grandfather Dave Bergman. The largest twin measures 1.8 cm. This is a FINE QUALITY specimen of this hard to find material. Valued at $700 and worth it for the quality and limited availability on the market.
