Item Description

A classic and desirable specimen of the well-known Sphalerites from the famous Iron Cap Mine in Arizona. One of these specimens was featured on the cover of The Mineralogical Record (Vol. 19, No. 2 March - April 1988). This piece is not as gemmy as the cover specimen, but it does show excellent crystallization with sharp faces and good overall form. It has a couple of tiny rough spots, but it's in really good shape for what it is. The piece comes to us from the collection of Harold Urish, who obtained it from Willie Chartier in Bisbee in April of 1990. A nice Arizona sulfide specimen for any collector.
