Sphalerite (cut by Robert Heath)

Bulgaria is probably the best active region producing gem quality Sphalerite in the world right now. Some of the best gem quality green, yellow and orange Sphalerite in the world is found in the Madan Region of Bulgaria. This particular gem is a good sized, soft "smoky" green color gem with a "Modified Mumble" cut. This stone has some visible inclusions, but green is the most highly sought after shade for this material. The stone was cut by Robert Heath in January of 2010.
